Diagnosing the Problem
Troubleshooting is best handled in two easy steps: first diagnose
the problem, then apply solutions until the problem is fixed. You
can find the information that you need to diagnose most common
problems directly from the control panel message and from the
Status Monitor utility.
Use the information presented in this chapter to pinpoint the
source of your problem, then apply the recommended solutions
until the problem is solved.
Error Messages
You can identify many common problems by looking at the Error
light and LCD panel on the control panel. If the Stylus Scan stops
working and the Error light is on or flashing, use the following
table to help diagnose and solve the problem.

Printer Error
An unknown printer
error has occurred.
Turn off the Stylus Scan and
contact your dealer.

Call Service
The used ink tank is full.
Turn off the Stylus Scan and
contact your dealer.

Scanner Error
One of the following
scanner errors has
occurred:
The transportation lock
has not been released,
the fluorescent lamp
needs to be replaced,
or the EPSON Stylus
Scan is broken.
Make sure that the
transportation lock is in the
unlocked position; then turn
the Stylus can off and back on.
If the Stylus Scan still does not
operate properly, or if this error
occurs repeatedly, consult
your dealer.
