ENGINE DISASSEMBLY

Cylinder Head Assembly
Rem ove the oil pipe bolts (head side). To rem ove the
bolts, loosen them In about tw o or three increm ents.
Finally, rem ove the glow plugs.

Rem ove the tappets by pulling them up from the
cylinder block.
Remove Feed Pump Assembly
Rem ove the feed pum p assem bly.
Fuel Injection Pump Removal
Rem ove bolts and nuts that retain the fuel injection
pum p. Move the pum p straight up and puli out the snap
pin. Rem ove the link from the pum p control rack. Finally,
rem ove the Injection pum p.
PART 2
ENGINE MECHANICAL
NO TE: Injection tim ing Is determ ined by SHIM S at
the pum p m ounting face. Be sure to check and
record the thicknes and num ber of shim s to ensure
proper Installation of the pum p.

Oil Pipe Removal
Loosen the EYE BOLT and rem ove the OIL PIPE.
See Figure 6.
Crankshaft Pulley
Rem ove the crankshaft pulley retaining nut and
w asher. Rem ove the crankshaft pulley and its key. See
Figure 7.
