5.5.3 USING THE 9600 WITH OTHER DATA COLLECTION PLATFORMS
To use the 9600 with commercial data collection platforms from manufacturers like Campbell, Sutron, or
Handar, you will need to interface the 9600 to the DCP using the 6096 adapter which has a MS-8 connector
on one end (which attaches to a 96XX field cable) and flying wire leads on the other (which attach to the
DCP). The wiring between the 6096 and the DCP should be done according to the following color codes
for the 6096:

Consult the manual of your particular DCP or contact the manufacturer directly to obtain information on
how to physically connect the 9600 to the DCP using the 96XX/6096 cable system. Once properly wired,
you will need to set up the DCP software to issue the proper command to receive data from the 9600.
You will again be required to consult you DCP manual to complete this software set-up.
IMPORTANT: Remember that, no matter whether a YSI 6200 or another DCP is used with the 9600, you
MUST ACTUALLY START A DEPLOYMENT using NUview software before detaching the instrument
from your PC and connecting it to the DCP.
