• Close the pinch clamp on the second standard bag.
• Remove the second standard bag fitting from the inlet port and set the bag aside for future use.
• Thread the inlet filter assembly onto the inner threads of the inlet port and tighten by hand – no tools
should be used.
• Thread the inlet filter guard onto the outer threads of the inlet port assembly and tighten by hand – no
tools should be used.

Remember to submerse the inlet port of the 9600 at the deployment site BEFORE THE FIRST SAMPLE
IS RUN to prevent air from being sucked into the system.
After completing Section 4 of the manual, you will have:
• Referred to a Check List to make sure that the hardware and reagent systems are set up properly.
• Run a Predeployment System Check to prove that your system hardware is functioning properly.
• Entered important information about your particular deployment into a set-up Wizard.
• Made a decision as to when you will install the inlet filter on your sample line.
• Started the deployment.
Section 5 below provides hints on how to pick a deployment site, how to power the 9600 in the field, how
to interface to the nitrate monitor to access your data, and how to use the 9600 with a data collection
platform.
