5. Multiple DEQ5(E) remote control
When multiple DEQ5 or DEQSEs are connected to combine with the main unit DEQ5(E), the following remote
operations are possible.
[Example 1] Remote control of selected DEQSEs only
Setting as follows beforehand can control the selected DEQSEs only.
Connect the RS-485 terminals. Connect the RS-485 terminals. Connect the RS-485 terminals.

After setting the communication protocol as shown above, assign each of the above DEQ5E to the “CONTROL
SELECT” numbers on the unit you choose and set the communication protocols corresponding to the DEQ5E to
be controlled in “REMOTE ASSIGN” menu in UTILITY for each dial number, then DEQ5E you choose can be
controlled.
For example, setting the same protocol (GROUP: 1, DEVICE:!) as the above DEQ5E-II on/in “CONTROL
SELECT” dial in “REMOTE ASSIGN” menu enables remote operation of DEQ5E-II just by setting the
“CONTROL SELECT” dial to “2”.
Caution
Do not use the same communication protocol settings among multiple DEQ5(E)s (same combination of
GROUP and DEVICE Nos.), except for the main unit.
If there is a device with the same setting, the parameter of the device to be remote controlled cannot be dis­
played on the display.
If you try to execute remote control under such a protocol, a message “WARNING” is displayed on the display.
