A. Multiple observations per
patient
If checked, WACS sends all of a patient’s vital signs in a single HL7 message.
If not checked, WACS sends each of a patient’s vital signs in a separate HL7
message.
B. Observations for multiple
patients per message
If checked, WACS sends all vital signs from all patients in a single HL7 message.
If not checked, WACS sends each patient's vital signs in a separate HL7 message.
C. Enable HL7 push
If checked, WACS sends all vital signs at the specified intervals.
If not checked, WACS sends vital signs only upon request by your facility’s HIS/
CIS. Deselecting this box alone does not change the HL7 outbound observation
model from a push configuration to a pull or query-response configuration.
A Welch Allyn representative is required to reconfigure the system with the other
necessary elements to change this configuration. If you wish to change this
configuration, please contact your Welch Allyn sales representative.
D. HL7 version
Specifies the HL7 version supported by your facility’s HIS/CIS.
E. Message Delay (seconds):
Specifies the time interval that is assigned for the HL7 message push function.
This default interval is assigned to each unit newly added to the WACS system.
To set a unique interval for a unit, see
.
If your facility utilizes a pull-type HL7 interface, set this interval to zero.
