Resetting the Module
Clicking [Restore Defaults] restores FactoryTalk Historian ME to its factory default
settings. During default restoration, all data will be lost, and the FactoryTalk
Historian ME web configuration will be restarted.
If you restore the module defaults, you must also restart all module clients. For
example:
FactoryTalk Historian DataLink
FactoryTalk Historian ProcessBook
FactoryTalk View SE Trending
PI System Management Tools (SMT)
PI SMT Tag Configurator
Resetting the Security Mode
The results of resetting security depend on the Security mode you have configured for
the module. Regardless of which ME Module Security mode is configured, resetting
security always results in resetting the Web Diagnostics administrative account
password to its default.
If you click [Restore Defaults] or [Reset Security] from the AOP, then the FactoryTalk
Historian ME module goes into a pending state. This pending state blocks you from
restoring the defaults, resetting security, or rebooting the module from either the AOP or
the web interface before one of the following occurs: the five (5) minute window expires,
the module is physically reset in the chassis, or you power-cycle the module. If you
attempt to restore the defaults from the web interface during that interval, the following
informational message appears telling you that that action is not allowed.
For more information about the AOP, please see the associated documentation.
