Qualification of personnel
• The Leica TP1020 may be operated only by trained
laboratory personnel.
• All laboratory personnel designated to operate the
Leica instrument must read these Instructions for
Use carefully and must be familiar with all techni-
cal features of the instrument before attempting to
operate it.
Designated use
T he instrument has been designed so that it is safe to
use by the operator as well as for processing speci-
mens—provided that it is operated according to these
Instructions for Use.
The Leica TP1020 is a modular automated tissue
processor designed for the following laboratory
applications:
• Fixation
• Dehydration
• Paraffin infiltration
of histological tissue specimens.
The Leica TP1020 must be operated exclusively with
the reagents listed in chapter 15.
Any other use of the instrument is con-
sidered improper! Failure to adhere to
these instructions may result in an ac-
cident, personal injury, damage to the
instrument or accessory equipment.
