screen to identify when the event you are interested in occurred. Select whether to
transfer all event details up to that date, or event details for three or one days preceding
the date.
3. Tap Transfer files to begin the file transfer.
4. Tap OK in the confirmation dialog box to continue with the transfer.
Tap Cancel to terminate the procedure if there is not room for the files on your USB key.
Remote Device File Structure
The file structure on the remote device is as follows.
1. All files for a particular instrument are stored in a folder with the instrument’s name (see item 1
in Figure 61).
2. Each file transfer operation creates a sub-directory with a name corresponding to the time and
date the transfer commenced (see item 2 in Figure 61).
Incident report places a compressed file in this sub-directory
3. Each file type (except Incident report) has a sub-directory that contains the transferred files
(see item 3 in Figure 61).

The configuration files are placed in the “configfiles” folder; the protocol files are placed in the
“protocols” folder; the state files are placed in the “statefiles” folder. The “logs” folder contains
the additional log files, if selected.
The compressed incident report file produces the same sub-directory structure when
uncompressed.
Archiving Log Files
Archiving log files has two purposes. It compacts the files so they take up less space on your
instrument. It discards any files older than three months. Archiving normally happens automatically,
but you may be required to manually archive the log files if requested by your service
representative. Archived files can be copied to a remote device and sent to Leica Microsystems or
your service representative.
Tap the Run archive tasks now button on the File transfer screen to archive files.
