Znc anodes requre replacement about every sx
months, f the boat s operated n salt water. In
fresh water, the znc anodes can be replaced about
once a year.
If the anodes deterorate more rapdly than ths,
there s probably a stray current problem wthn the
boat or at the slp or moorng.
If the anodes do not deterorate, they are not
protectng the other metallc parts of your boat. Ths
can be caused by loose anodes or by low grade znc
or by not havng a sold electrcal contact between
the anode and the metal t contacts, or by pant on
the anodes.
If the anodes are deteroratng rapdly, or not at all,
contact your dealer.

The automatcally controlled Cathodc ant-
Corroson system for marne nstallaton protects
underwater metals from the effects of corroson
and electrolyss on stern drves. The system
components are desgned for marne servce. DO

The anode and reference electrode are attached to
the electrode assembly under each stern drve unt.
The sold state controller s mounted wthn a plastc
housng on the transom n the blge.
Maintenance
The Mercathode ® system must be tested to
ensure adequate output. The test should be
performed every 100 hours or annually. Contact
your authorzed Baja ® dealer to arrange for ths
test. Refer to the engne operator's manual for more
detaled nformaton.

to your authorzed Baja ® dealer for servce. Baja ®
reserves the rght to change or update the electrcal
system on any model at any tme wthout notce to
the consumer and s nOT oblgated to make any
updates to unts bult pror to changes.
