If you need to replace a fuse or breaker,

use only

the same amperage as the original and is rated

for marine use. It s recommended that you carry

spare fuses.

If a fuse or breaker s replaced wth one of lower

amperage, it will be insufficient to carry the electrical

load of the equpment t s connected to and wll

cause nusance fuse falure or breaker trppng.

If a breaker or fuse s replaced wth a breaker or

fuse of hgher amperage, t wll not provde adequate

protecton aganst an electrcal malfuncton and wll

create a fire hazard.

The fuses are color coded accordng to the

amperage and the ratng s also marked on each

Electrolytc corroson of metals on power boats

can result n rapd and serous deteroraton of

metal parts. you must set a regular schedule and

look for the possblty of electrolytc corroson

(the deteroraton of metals due to dssmlar

characterstcs when placed n salt water). It s

your responsblty to check for and replace parts

damaged due to electrolytc corroson.

To mnmze electrolytc corroson of the metals on

your boat, znc anode plates are provded on your

boat to protect underwater hardware. Znc, beng

much less "noble" than the copper-based alloys

and alumnum used n underwater fttngs, wll

deteriorate first and protect the other metals.

Stern drives are fitted with zinc anodes on their lower

unts (refer to your Engne Owner's Manual for ther

locatons). If boat s equpped wth Mercathode®

stern drve wll not have zncs.

DANGER

!

GASOLINE VAPORS CAN EXPLODE

Use ONLY Marine-rated parts to replace such items

as starters, distributors, alternators, generators,

etc.

Do not use automotive parts for these components

or any jumper cables because they are not ignition-

protected and could cause a fire or explosion.

Use of higher amperage fuses or breakers is a fire

hazard.

Use fuses and breakers having the same amperage

rating as the original or as specified.
