Installing/Removing the Battery Pack
Install the battery pack into the battery compartment on the bottom of your VAIO computer.
Be sure to install the battery pack before using the computer.
Do not use the computer without installing the battery pack, as it may
cause the computer to malfunction.
To install the battery pack
1. Turn off your VAIO computer, disconnect the power cord and all connection cables,
and close the LCD screen lid.
2. Turn your VAIO computer over and remove the bottom cover.
Unscrew the two screws (1) with a cross slot screwdriver, then slide the cover in the
direction of the arrow (2).
Note
Use a screwdriver (such as a precision screwdriver) that matches the size of the
screws.
Do not remove or loosen the screws that are not specified to be removed, as it may
cause your VAIO computer to malfunction.
Be careful not to drop the removed screws through the openings in and around the
battery compartment into your VAIO computer.
Be careful not to touch the wires and the projections in and around the battery
compartment.
3. Slide the battery pack into the battery compartment in the direction of the arrow.
4. Push the battery pack down into the battery compartment.
The battery pack clicks into place in the compartment.
