3.5.4 Connect the Power Cord
To connect the power cord:
1. Ensure the 5157 power switch is set to 0.
2. Connect the power cord to the 5157 power connector ensuring
that it is fully seated.
3. Connect the other end of the power cord to a nearby AC outlet.

3.6.1 Run POST (Power On Self Test)
To test the installation for the 5157 tape drive by running POST:
1. Turn on the system power.
2. Set the power switch on the 5157 rear panel to on. POST
runs automatically.
3. Observe the indicators on the 5157 front panel. Ensure the
indicator sequence of events is the same as in Table 3-2. Events
on the right and left sides happen at the same time.
