If a failure occurs in the Cnt Ac-S Z system (P-VOL and S-VOL), business is resumed using the
Cnt Ac-J Z S-VOL. When the failure is corrected, business tasks are transferred back to the
primary site.

If a failure occurs in the Cnt Ac-J Z system (P-VOL and S-VOL), business is resumed using the
Cnt Ac-S Z S-VOL.

Prerequisite information for 3DC multi-target

P9500 must be installed at the local, Cnt Ac-S Z intermediate, and Cnt Ac-J Z remote sites.

Business Continuity Manager is recommended at all sites.
•
Remote Web Console is required at all sites.

The primary site requires the following:

3DC multi-target can be used in configurations with multiple primary and secondary systems.
However, neither delta resync configurations nor secondary systems using EXCTG are supported
in configurations with multiple primary and secondary systems.
Procedure for setting up 3DC multi-target
Procedure 38 To set up a 3DC multi-target configuration
1. Install and set up Cnt Ac-S Z and Cnt Ac-J Z on the required systems.
2. Create a Cnt Ac-S Z pair on the primary system. See HP P9000 Continuous Access Synchronous
for Mainframe Systems User Guide for instructions.
3. When Cnt Ac-S Z pair status is Duplex, create the Cnt Ac-J Z pair on the primary system. The
mirror ID must be set between 1 and 3.
Delta resync configuration
In a Cnt Ac-J Z delta resync configuration, you create a second Cnt Ac-J Z pair in a 3DC multi-target.
The pair is created using the Cnt Ac-S Z secondary volume (S-VOL) and the Cnt Ac-J Z S-VOL.
