Restoring Storage Mirroring Data Through the Management
Console

1.

From the Management Console, select

Tools

,

Restoration Manager

.

2.

Select the

Original Source

machine. This is your source machine where the data originally resided.

3.

Select the

Restore From

machine. This is the target machine where the backup data is stored.

4.

Replication Set

contains the replication set information stored on the target machine (the machine in

Restore From

). If

no replication sets are available, the list will be blank. Select the replication set that corresponds to the data that you
need to restore.

5.

Select the

Restore To

machine. This is the machine where the backup data will be sent.

6.

The

Source Path

and

Target Path

will automatically be populated when the replication set is selected. The source path

is the directory that is the common parent directory for all of the directories selected in the replication set. If the
replication set crosses volumes, then there will be a separate source path for each volume. The target path is the path on
the target server where the replicated files were sent.

NOTE:

Restoration applies to the entire replication set and should not be used for individual file restoration.
Individual files can be restored manually by copying the files from the target to the source machine using
native operating system tools.

NOTE:

By default, the data will be returned to the same location it came from. However, Storage Mirroring will
allow the data to be placed in a location other than the original.

Restoring across a NAT router requires the ports to be the same as the original connection. If the ports
have been modified (manually or reinstalled), you must set the port numbers to the same values as the the
last valid source/target connection.
