ALLOWOPENS Command

PENDOPSLOC

identifies the physical location of the PENDOPS catalog file, which must be in a
storage pool. This attribute has no default value. The PENDOPS file need not be
on the same physical volume as the IDENTITY file. You may place it on the same
disk as the ANT file, unless you have performance reasons for moving it
elsewhere.

The storage pool in which the catalog volume resides does not need to be in the
same pool that is associated with the virtual disk process.

The catalog volume must be configured as a TMF data volume. HP recommends
that it be placed on a mirrored, audited disk.

STARTDOWN

indicates whether the execution state of the virtual disk process should be set to
UP or DOWN when the process is started. A value of TRUE sets the execution
state to DOWN. A value of FALSE sets it to UP. The default value is FALSE.

ANTCAPACITY

the maximum number of entries stored in the name table. The default maximum
file size is 32 megabytes.

The value is set to the maximum of 2,500,000 entries and any value you enter is
ignored.

Because this parameter cannot be modified after the ANT (Audited Name Table) is
created, when the ANT is full, no new files can be created. The ANT is created with
the maximum number of extents regardless of the value of the ANTCAPACITY
parameter. To save space, the extents are not allocated until needed.

CACHESIZE

is the number of file name-mappings to store in the name cache that SMF uses to
resolve virtual names into physical names when processing file open requests. The
maximum is 50,000 entries. The default is 0 entries.

ALLOWOPENS Command

The ALLOWOPENS command enables acceptance of new file open requests for:

All physical volumes associated with a storage pool

A particular physical volume

Only members associated with the super-group (255,

n

) can execute the

ALLOWOPENS command.
