Following a discussion of the PROCESS attribute set, each command summarized in

Table B-1

is described in detail. Refer to the Dynamic System Configuration (DSC)

Manual for complete information about using the DSC utility and its COUP interface.

PROCESS Attribute Set

The PROCESS attribute set is a collection of attributes that describe an SMF process.
You specify these attributes as parameters in the following commands: SET, ADD, and
ALTER. The parameters listed constitute the subset of COUP PROCESS attribute
parameters that have an effect on SMF processes. COUP supports somewhat different

ADD

Adds an entry for a process to the OSCONFIG file; optionally
assigns process attributes.

ALTER

Changes the attributes in an existing OSCONFIG entry for a
process.

ASSUME

Sets the default object type to PROCESS so it need not be specified
in subsequently submitted COUP commands.

DELETE

Deletes the OSCONFIG entry for a process that is not running.

INFO

Retrieves information about attributes associated with an
OSCONFIG entry for a process; optionally retrieves additional
information about the process if it is currently running.

SET

Defines attributes for a process that does not yet have an
OSCONFIG entry.

START

Starts the execution of a process.

STATUS

Retrieves information about currently executing processes.

STOP

Stops the execution of a process.
