Volume Configuration Buffer
The following information for a magnetic volume is returned to the buffer you identify in
the
vol-config-buffer
parameter after the call to
SMS_GETPHYSVOLSINPOOLNEXT_ or SMS_GETPHYSVOLINFOFROMPOOL_:

Mirroring
0:1
Two bytes treated as a single binary field. Set to 0 if the volume
is not configured to be mirrored. Set to 1 if the volume is
configured to be mirrored. This value does not indicate whether
the mirror is UP.
Auditing
2:3
Two bytes treated as a single binary field. Set to 0 if the volume
is not protected by TMF. Set to 1 if the volume is protected by
TMF. This value does not indicate whether the volume is
currently able to generate audit data.
Nomadic disk
support
4:5
Two bytes treated as a single binary field. Set to 0 if the volume
is not configured to have a remote mirror. Set to 1 if the volume
is configured with a remote mirror.
Isolation
6:7
Two bytes treated as a single binary field. Set to 0 if the volume
is not currently isolated. Set to 1 if the volume is currently
isolated.
Quarantine
8:9
Two bytes treated as a single binary field. Set to 0 if the volume
is not currently quarantined. Set to 1 if the volume is currently
quarantined.

is unavailable for normal processing. Set to 1 if the volume is
available for all normal processing. Set to 2 if the volume is UP
in SPECIAL mode and unavailable for most processing.
Mirroring state
2:3
Two bytes treated as a single binary field. Set to 0 if the volume
is currently unmirrored; this value indicates that the volume is not
configured to be mirrored or that it is a mirrored volume, but one
of the disks is down. Set to 1 if the volume is currently mirrored.
Audit state
4:5
Two bytes treated as a single binary field. Set to 1 if the volume
is able to generate audit. Set to 0 if the volume cannot generate
audit or is not configured for TMF.
