SMF Event Descriptions

SMF event messages are described individually in this subsection, in order by event
number. Each description includes:

The event-message text generated when the message is displayed according to
the message template defined in the file ZSMFTMPL, the source for which is in the
file SSMFTMPL.

An explanation of unconditional ZSMF-defined tokens associated with the event.

A possible reference to the subsection

Conditional Information

on page A-23, for

an explanation of display messages and tokens associated with the event if a file
system or shared services error causes the event to be generated.

The conditions that prompt SMF to generate the event.

The effects associated with the event.

Recovery procedures that you can follow to solve the problem reported by the
event.

Conditional Information

When a file system error or a shared services error causes an event to be generated,
information describing the error is returned within the event. Display text describing the
error is appended to the text always associated with the event:

standard-event-text

always accompanies the event. The text and unconditional tokens associated with
each event are described next in this subsection.

file-system-error-number

is a NonStop Kernel file system error number that is associated with token
ZSMF-TKN-FSERROR. The error number can range from 0 through 255. If it is
greater than zero, it appears in the message text following the string
“FSERROR =”. Refer to the Guardian Procedure Errors and Messages Manual for
information on file system errors.
