Using RESTORE to Recover SMF Catalog Files
After the pool process catalog files recovery operation, issue the following COUP
command or SCF command:
COUP START PROCESS process-name
SCF START POOL process-name
The COUP START or SCF START operation brings the pool process to the UP state
and resolves any operations that were active when the catalog files became
unavailable.
Using RESTORE to Recover SMF Catalog Files
Although it is possible to recover SMF catalog files by restoring the files from a backup
tape, HP does not recommend this practice. A backed up version of the catalog files is
more likely to be obsolete or inconsistent to a degree that it might be impossible for
those files to coexist or function with both SMF and TMF subsystems.
If using a backed up version to recover catalog files is the only option, recovery should
be attempted only with the assistance of a your service provider.
