SMFIXUP Utility
The SMFIXUP utility is used to perform various SMF process and catalog
maintenance tasks that cannot be done by other utilities that support the SMF
subsystem. SMFIXUP is restricted for use by super-group (255,n) users only.
Operation of SMFIXUP is based on the following assumptions:
SMFIXUP cannot be run from one node to perform tasks on another node unless
the terminal device on which SMFIXUP is to run is assigned as a remote home
terminal on the other node.
SMFIXUP does not provide an SPI interface.
This section contains these topics:
SMF Process Maintenance Commands
Starting SMFIXUP
The RUN SMFIXUP command starts the SMFIXUP utility.
infile
is the name of a terminal or input file from which input is extracted. The default is
the home terminal. If the value for infile is a file name specified without the volume
and subvolume name, your current volume and subvolume are used.
outfile
is the name of a terminal or input file to which output is directed. The default is the
home terminal. If outfile is a file name specified without the volume and
subvolume, your current volume and subvolume are used.
Caution. SMFIXUP is a powerful tool that allows you to take actions from which you may not
be able to recover. You should not use SMFIXUP unless you are attempting to fix a serious
problem. Contact your service provider for assistance if you are unsure about what operations
to perform.
RUN SMFIXUP [/IN infile, OUT outfile/] [command]
