6 Operating status messages
According to the cause, motor starters generate appropriate messages if they deviate from their normal
operating status. There is a differentiation between warning and error messages. If the motor starter is in the
status "Start disabled", the reason for this can also be displayed.
Error and warning messages as well as the reasons for the "Start disabled" are displayed in the
corresponding arrays of parameter (P700).
Motor starter starting disabled
If the motor starter is in the status "Not Ready" or "Start Disabled", the reason for this is indicated in the third
array element of parameter (P700).
Warning messages
Warning messages are generated as soon as a defined limit is reached. However this does not cause the
device to switch off. These messages can be displayed via the array-element [-02] in parameter (P700) until
the reason for the warning is no longer present or the device has gone into a fault state with an error
message.
Error messages
Errors cause the motor starter to switch off, in order to prevent a device fault.
The following options are available to reset a fault (acknowledge):
1. Switching the mains off and on again,
2. By an appropriately programmed digital input (P420 = Function 7),
3. By switching the “enable” on the motor starter to Low (if no digital input is programmed for
acknowledgement),
4. By acknowledging via the AS interface or PROFIBUS
An error message can only be acknowledged if its direct cause is no longer present.
DS-LED:
This LED (Section 3.1 ) is dual coloured and can therefore indicate readiness as well as
errors of the motor starter.
Green
indicates the standby status and the presence of mains voltage.
Red
indicates the presence of an error by flashing with a frequency which corresponds to
the number code of the fault (Section 6.2 ).
6.1 SimpleBox display
The SimpleBox displays an error with its number and the prefix "E". In addition, the current fault can be
displayed in array element [-01] of parameter (P700). If the cause of the error is no longer present, the error
display in the SimpleBox flashes and the error can be acknowledged with the Enter key.
In contrast, warning messages are prefixed with "C" ("Cxxx") and cannot be acknowledged. They disappear
automatically when the reason for them is no longer present or the motor starter has switched to the "Error"
state. Display of the message is suppressed if the warning appears during parameterisation.
The current warning message can be displayed in detail at any time in array element [-02] of parameter
(P700).
