Signal status LED / AS-i - specific display
With these devices, the status of the AS-i interface is indicated by the dual colour LED AS-i.

Addressing
In order to use a motor starter in an AS-i network, it must be assigned a unique address (1-31/62) As the
default setting, the starter is set to address 0 and can therefore be recognised as a "new device" by an AS
master (condition for automatic allocation of address by the master).
In many other cases, addressing is carried out by means of a normal addressing device for AS-i slaves. The
following should be noted:
Ensure power supply of the AS-i interface via the yellow AS-i cable.
·
Disconnect the AS-i master during addressing
·
Set the address
≠ 0
·
Do not doubly assign addresses
Commercially available hand-held boxes can be used for addressing the motor starter. Typical manufac-
turers are Pepperl+Fuchs (E.g.: VBP-HH1-V3.0-V1) and IFM (E.g.: AC1154).
NOTE
If the device is exclusively supplied via the yellow AS-i cable and further consum-
ers such as initiators or actuators are connected, which cause the total current
consumption via AS-i to be in excess of 100mA, the internal voltage source of the
addressing device cannot be used.
NOTE
Commercially available hand-held boxes can be used for addressing the motor
starter. Typical manufacturers are Pepperl+Fuchs (E.g.: VBP-HH1-V3.0-V1).
Addressing units without an external voltage supply may, under certain
circumstances, not supply the required current of 240mA, which are required for
the supply of the control level of the motor starter and any other consumers which
are connected to it. Therefore a version must be selected, which is matched to
the outline conditions of the motor starter.
