OPERATION MANUAL - MODEL 9610

SECTION 5 - MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

Normally, the PIN WORKING KEY contains only one part. How-
ever, some keys may contain multiple parts. If this is the case,
separate individuals will hold the parts. If your key has multiple
parts you must answer the question “ANOTHER KEY PART?”, with
a YES until all parts are entered.

The CHECK DIGIT that appears after all parts of the PIN WORK-
ING KEY have been entered is similar to the checksum that is
used to verify that the data programmed into a memory device
such as an EPROM is correct. The CHECK DIGIT can be veri-
fied by doing a RECEIPT PRINTER TEST from the DIAGNOS-
TICS Menu and comparing the PIN WORKING KEY CHECK DIGIT
on the printout to the original receipt printout from the initial termi-
nal setup. If the CHECK DIGIT is different from the original, and
the terminal is not operating correctly, the PIN WORKING KEY is
corrupt, and you should contact your service organization for as-
sistance.
