6.6 AI Function Block
The AI function block is a unit of the software and
executed according to the system schedule. During
execution, it incorporates data from the SENSOR
and Flow transducer block. After execution, it
updates analog outputs and processes newly
generated alarms. AI function blocks can provide
a discrete output which shows the status of LO,
LO_LO, HI, or HI_HI. In terms of function, there is
no difference between the five AI function blocks
provided in EJX multivariable transmitter.
6.6.1 Function Blocks
The AI function block, via the Channel, incorporates
analog signals from the transducer block, performs
scaling processing, filtering, low-cut, and alarm
processing before outputting. It has the function to
generate a discrete output. Figure 6.5 presents the
AI function block.
