1.3 ASSIGNING A PLAYLIST TO A PLAYER
CHANNEL
A playlist will be created off-line, if it is not associated to a player channel, or on-
line if it is associated to a channel. An off-line playlist can be made on-line
afterwards.

A playlist is in “Idle” state when
•
it is simply opened in a Playlist Panel but not loaded on a player channel or
•
it is associated to a channel on which an element type (clip, train, growing
clip) is already loaded.
•
you right-click the Channel Name field and select Set Channel to IDLE, to
unload the playlist.
In this case, all functions are dimmed and inactive with the exception of the
Channel Name, LSM ID and the Playlist Name fields, which can be accessed.
Elements can be added, removed and re-ordered, transition types and durations
can be modified but the playlist cannot be viewed or played on the EVS server
output.
The E/E and Recue buttons are active in the second situation.
The following screenshot gives an example of a playlist in idle state:
