Troubleshooting
This chapter covers the potential problems you may run into and the
possible remedies.
After each problem description, some instructions are provided to help you to diagnose and to
solve the problem. If you still have problems, check all the connections and settings, refer to your
user’s guide and if the problem persists e-mail or call your dealer for assistance.
12.1 Problems Starting Up the Prestige

None of the LED’s are
on when you power on
the Prestige
Check the connection between the DC adapter and the Prestige.
If the error persists, you may have a hardware problem. In this case you
should contact technical support.
1.Check to see if the Prestige is connected to your computer’s serial port.

Cannot access the
Prestige via the console
port.
2. Check to see if the communications
program is configured correctly. The
communications software should be
configured as follows:
No parity, 8 Data bits, 1 Stop bit.
The Prestige drops the
call even though the
authentication phase
was successful.
Check the IP address of the remote node. The Prestige uses the IP address
as another form of authentication. Hence, if the address supplied by the
remote node does not match the address the Prestige is expecting, the call will
be dropped.
You can rectify this problem by using the Internet Access Setup Menu 4 to
configure your remote node.
You can enter the ISP’s IP address field as 0.0.0.0. In this case, the Prestige
will accept any IP address sent from the device and the call won’t be dropped.
