Start a HyperTerminal or Telnet session (or other software session similar to HyperTerminal or
Telnet). For HyperTerminal, connect using TCP/IP (Winsock). If this selection is not available,
HyperTerminal will not work for this test. You will have to use Telnet or something similar.
When prompted for host address and port number, use the Gasboy system adapter IP address
and port number (for example, telnet 192.168.1.101 1001 at the command prompt would
connect to an adapter with IP address 192.168.1.101 and port number 1001). Verify you can
sign on to the Gasboy system and run system commands. If unable to connect, ensure the
adapter and Gasboy system are powered. Check cable connection from the Gasboy system to
the adapter and the adapter to PC. Check the system baud rate is set correctly for the port being
used. It may be necessary to default all the adapter settings and re-load them (refer to
). If still unable to connect, try replacing the adapter.
You must be able to communicate with the Gasboy system at this level before going forward.
