Verifying the Connectivity to the Serial-to-LAN Adapter
Verifying the Connectivity from the Telnet Program
Connectivity can be verified using a program such as Telnet (
). When starting the
session, the program being used usually requires the IP address and port number. Enter the IP
address and port number set in the adapter connected to the Gasboy system.
If you are using Serial Tunneling in a Direct Connect mode, the adapter connected to the serial
port of the PC must be turned off before you can verify connectivity to the Gasboy system
adapter using this method.

Verifying the Connectivity from Terminal Emulation Program
If you are using Serial Tunneling option, you can verify connectivity between the Gasboy
system and PC adapters using a terminal emulation program such as Hyper Terminal.
When you use a terminal emulation program such as Hyper Terminal (adapter in Direct
Connect or Modem mode), you will need to open the COM port that the adapter is connected
to on the PC. You will also need to match the communication parameters set on the adapter
(baud rate, number of bits, parity, stop bits). All Gasboy systems use the same communication
parameters: 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. The baud rate should be set to match the port on the
Gasboy system.
If you are using the Direct Connect mode, start the terminal emulation session and you should
be able to communicate to the Gasboy system just as if it were directly connected to the COM
port.
