6 Both chromatograms will appear in the Data Review window. The first file
displayed in the Control Panel will be plotted in black to coordinate with the
colored check box located to the left of the file name. The second file will be
plotted in blue to coordinate with the colored check box located to the left of the
file name. See
Figure 14-6 .

7 The retention time of the desired data file(s) can be shifted for further
comparison. The retention time of a specific compound may be slightly different
between data files. Shifting the retention times of one data file will align the
peaks for further comparison.
8 Shift the chromatogram by selecting + to shift the chromatogram forward, or -
to shift the chromatogram backwards. Type in the desired amount of time under
RT for the chromatogram to shift. See
Figure 14-7 .
