5.2.1

Filter slides

The filter slides consist of an excitation section and an emission section. The filter slides allow the user to
work with four independent excitation/emission filter pairs which can be defined on positions 1 to 4. The
information of the inserted filters is saved on the integrated microchip.

5.2.2

Inserting optical filters

There are two types of filters:

• Filters that are marked with an arrow

• Filters that are not marked

Both filter types must be correctly inserted into the filter slides to ensure that the light enters the filter from
the correct side.

For the predefined Eppendorf filter slides, the filters are permanently installed. They cannot
be removed or exchanged.
