Quick Start
This option sets the camera to enter standby mode when not used or when
the LCD monitor is closed. In standby mode, start the camera quickly by
pressing REC
button, REC
button, sliding the power switch or
opening the LCD monitor.
1. From the setup menu, use the jog dial to select [QUICK START] and
press the OK button.
2. Use the jog dial to select [ON] or [OFF] and press the OK button.
The selected option is set and the setup
menu reappears.
ON
: The standby mode function is
enabled.
OFF : The standby mode function is
disabled.

In standby mode, if not used, the camera will turn off automatically after
20 minutes regardless of the AUTO POWER OFF setting.
In standby mode, slide the power switch and hold it for 3 seconds to
force the power off.
In standby mode, pressing REC
button will start recording video
while pressing REC
button or sliding the power switch will only
return to recording mode preview.
Sliding the power switch will enter standby mode.
When both [QUICK START] and [LCD-LINKED POWER] are set to
[ON], closing the LCD monitor will enter standby mode.
