Tip During startup, press the DEL key if you need to enter the BIOS
and change BIOS settings. To protect your Mobile Computer from
unauthorized use, it is recommended that you set a supervisor
password in the BIOS. See Chapter 5 for details.
3. After the POST finishes, you will be prompted to set up
Windows Vista®.
Tips • You can shutdown either from the Control Center or Windows Vista® Start
menu. See Chapter 2 for details.
• To prevent accidental keyboard or touch screen actions when the Mobile
Computer is in the carrying case, slide the POWER/HOLD switch to the left
until you hear a click. You will then see an orange dot beside the switch.
Set up Windows Vista® Business Edition
Your Mobile Computer is preinstalled with Windows Vista® Business Edition.
The first time you turn on your Mobile Computer, Windows Vista® runs a
setup wizard to detect hardware components and install drivers. Follow
the instructions on the screen to set up Windows Vista® and complete the
wizard.
Install the anti-virus software
Your Mobile Computer comes with PC-cillin Internet Security which is Trend
Micro’s anti-virus software. Before installing this anti-virus software:
• Log into Windows with Administrator privileges.
• Disable or remove any other firewall you may have running (such as
the Windows Firewall).
• Close all windows other than the installer window.
To install PC-cillin Internet Security
1. Open Windows Explorer and go to this folder:
C:\Program Files\TrendMicro
You will find an .exe file which is a compressed file of the anti-virus
software’s installer.
2. Run the .exe file.
3. A dialog box opens and shows the default folder where the installer
will be saved. Tap Next to start extracting the installer.
