PPRC Commands with Hitachi ShadowImage™ for z/OS

Both Siz and TCz support PPRC commands. You must make sure that commands are being executed by

the correct program against the correct volumes. A PPRC command issued to the storage system will be

executed by Siz against Siz pairs if all of the following conditions are met. If any of these conditions is

not met, the PPRC command will be executed by TCz against TCz pairs.

The Siz feature and software must be installed and enabled on the storage system.

The serial numbers of the S-VOL and the T-VOL must be defined according to either of the

following:
• Enter the same serial number for both S VOL and T VOL.
• Enter an additional parameter instead of the serial number for the S VOL, and enter the

serial number for the T VOL.

PSF and DEVSERV Commands

The perform storage system function (PSF) commands key the storage system to accept commands and

requests from the user.

Table 25

on page 106 describes the operability of PSF commands on Siz volumes.

Table 26

on page 107 describes the PSF Read storage system Data and DEVSERV Sense storage system

Status results for Siz volumes.
