Checking management server name resolution
After logging in to Device Manager, when starting other Command View AE Suite products, such as
Replication Manager, the host name of the management server must be set so that it can be resolved
to the IP address. If the name cannot be resolved, an attempt to start another Command View AE
Suite product will fail.
•
Check whether the computer (management server) on which products such as the Device Manager
server or Replication Manager server are installed can be accessed by using the host name.
NOTE:
If you are having issues with general access, or with using a component of HP StorageWorks
P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite, first make sure the problem is not related
to the management server, or related to networking.
For troubleshooting problems related to Device Manager servers, see the
HP P9000
Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software Administrator Guide.
