Device Manager enhancements
Device Manager now supports:
•
Fast Snap (1024 generations per P-VOL) configuration in CLI
•
Fast Snap (512 generations per P-VOL) configuration in GUI
•
Fast Snap (1024 generations per P-VOL) reporting in GUI and CLI
•
Native flash identification for SLC and MLC
•
HDD mixed in tier configuration
•
In the Virtualize Volumes dialog box, you can now search and virtualize the volumes in an external
storage system that is connected to an external port. This allows you to virtualize volumes that are
not managed by Device Manager.
•
Unmap virtualized volumes of an external storage system
•
External Storage tab combines the External Volumes list and Available External Volumes list into
a single list
•
Shred data on volumes
•
Manually assign ESXi servers as VMware
•
Set a CLPR to unallocated THP/Smart volumes when allocating the volumes
•
Set labels to volumes when allocating the volumes

System configuration
As part of a basic storage network configuration, HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced
Edition Suite software is comprised of Command View AE Suite server-based components, agents,
and clients that enable you to manage storage resources.
The following figure illustrates HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite
management server components, and the basic configuration of the storage network.
