USB Function Check
Background To test the USB functionality, National
Instruments Measurement and Automation
Explorer can be used. This program is available
on the NI website,
www.ni.com , via a search
for the VISA Run-time Engine page, or
“downloads” at the following URL,
http://www.ni.com/visa/
Requirements Operating System: Windows XP, 7, 8, 8.1
Functionality
check 1. Open the Windows Device Manager to see
which COM port the PCS has been assigned.
Using Windows 7, press:
Start>Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Device
Manager
The COM port number will be shown in the
device tree under: PORTS (COM & LPT)>PCS-
1000 (COM XX)
2. Start the NI Measurement and Automation
Explorer (MAX) program. Using Windows,
press:
Start>All Programs>National
Instruments>Measurement & Automation
