OIT received proper control command

Timeout Error

OIT did not receive the entire command (including the command

or line terminator) before intercharacter delay timeout occurred

Packet Error

OIT received the entire command but all or part of the command

was defective

Invalid Command ASCII host sent an invalid command (for example, r instead of R

for the Read OIT Memory Command)

Invalid Memory

Address

ASCII host sent a request to read/write to an invalid OIT internal

memory address

5

Invalid Length

ASCII host sent an invalid data byte length (not 1, 2, 3, or 4)

6

Invalid Data

ASCII host sent data which does not match the length specified

Echo Command

A text terminator

Maximum of 10 printable ASCII characters.

Description: The echo command can be used by the ASCII host to verify that the OIT

is properly connected to the serial link.

Response: errorcode text lineterminator

Text received from ASCII host with echo command.

Display Screen Command

ESC

M msgnum terminator

msg num =

0-500 in decimal (Base 10) format. Leading zeroes are not required

if the message number is less than three digits (for example, 5 or 005

is acceptable). If the message number is greater than 500, the OIT sets

the Invalid Msg status coil.

Description: Requests a new screen to be displayed on the OIT.

Response: errorcode lineterminator

Clear Poll Buffer Command

Description: Clears the OIT’s polling buffer if in Network mode. Not required if in

Interactive mode.

Response: errorcode lineterminator

Poll Buffer Command

ESC

P terminator

Description: Polls the OIT’s polling buffer if in Network mode. The OIT stores any data

that is to be sent to the ASCII host in this buffer until the host sends this command. The

OIT then sends the contents of the polling buffer to the ASCII host. This command is

not required if in Interactive mode.

Response: errorcode buffercontents lineterminator

buffer contents = Contents of the OIT’s polling buffer.
