Local Setup Mode

The OIT has a local setup mode which can be accessed by pressing the Setup key on the nu-

meric keypad. On the OIT3160 and OIT4160 models, local setup mode is entered either by

pressing the Enter key three times consecutively when the OIT is communicating to an

ASCII host or by holding the Clear key down when the OIT is initializing.

The local setup can be used by the OIT programmer for the following:

configuration of the OIT using the OITware 200 configuration software

entering bypass mode

changing the display level

changing the OIT clock time and date

setting security passwords

enabling the screen saver.

Once in the setup mode, the OIT will prompt the operator for the setup password. Once the

five-digit numeric password has been entered, the following text is displayed:

Note: Some of the menu selections are not available, depending upon the model of OIT.

When in local setup mode, all of the keys on the OIT are disabled except for the following:

Clear key–Used to clear an entry or reset the value back to the original setting. This key

can also be used to back out of the menus and eventually exit the local setup mode without

saving any of the changes.

Enter key–Used to accept the current data entry for a menu and advance to the next menu.
