Clear
The Clear key performs three functions. If an alarm is active, pressing the Clear key turns off
the buzzer. In local setup mode, pressing the Clear key will back out of the menus and even-
tually exit local setup mode without saving any of the changes. When a read/write register
monitor is on the screen, pressing the Clear key clears the current register monitor’s contents
and activates data entry mode. The register monitor field becomes blank and the cursor is po-
sitioned in the rightmost character position.
Delete
The Delete key performs a destructive backspace at the cursors current position in the screen.
Delta+/Delta-
Each read/write register monitor can be configured to use the increment/decrement keys.
These keys can be enabled/disabled and configured with a particular step value for each
read/write register monitor. Each time the OIT operator presses one of these keys, the value in
the OIT data register is changed by adding/subtracting the step value. As each key is pressed,
the OIT data register is updated immediately and will be visible on the display as it occurs.
Enter
The Enter key performs two functions. In local setup mode, pressing the Enter key accepts
the current entry and advances to the next menu. When a read/write register monitor is on the
screen, pressing the Enter key accepts the data entered by the OIT operator and updates the
OIT data or coil register.
Help
The Help key displays the help screen attached to the message, recipe, or menu screen cur-
rently being displayed.
Last Message/Next Message
The Last Message and Next Message keys allow the OIT operator to review the screens that
were previously displayed on the OIT and then return to the most recent screen. In Stacked
Mode, the Next Message key causes the next message in the message stack to be displayed.
Page Up/Page Down
The Page Up and Page Down keys allow the OIT operator to move through a group of
chained screens.
Setup
The Setup key places the OIT into setup mode. On the OIT3160 and OIT4160 setup mode is
entered by holding down the Clear key when the OIT is being powered up or pressing Enter
three times during operation.
Toggle
The Toggle key performs two functions. In local setup mode, pressing the Toggle key will ad-
vance through the various selections for the current menu. When a binary read/write register
monitor is on the screen, pressing the Toggle key changes between the two binary values.
