1 second alarm, 5 second alarm, 30 second alarm – Maple Systems OIT Family (ASCII) User Manual
Page 29: 60 second alarm, Three beeps, once per second, Five beeps, twice per second, One beep per second continuously, Two beeps per second continuously

The alarm condition has now been confirmed by the OIT operator, so the OIT now silences
the alarm buzzer, clears the alarm LED, sets the Acknowledge Alarm status coil, and dis-
plays the prior message screen.
When programming a screen to be an alarm, the OIT programmer can select one of four pri-
ority levels (1 is the highest, 4 is the lowest) and one of nine alert sounds. The nine alert
sounds give the programmer an option on the time the alarm buzzer sounds:

The priority level determines the order in which the alarm is placed into the alarm stack. All
#1 priority alarms are displayed first, followed by #2, #3, and #4 priority alarms. In this man-
ner, alarms which are more important than others can be given a higher priority to ensure that
they are seen by the OIT operator first. The alarm stack is internal to the OIT and is used to
store alarms which have yet to be displayed on the OIT. As each alarm is displayed, it is re-
moved from the alarm stack. The alarm stack holds a maximum of 10 before it is full. The
stack continuously reorders new alarms by placing the highest priority alarms at the top of
the stack. Once the alarm stack is full, older alarms of lesser or equal priority are removed
from the stack in favor of any further alarm requests from the ASCII host. The OIT can dis-
play the current number of alarms in the alarm stack on any screen through the use of the
Alarm Stack Monitor. The monitor requires two character spaces on a screen, and is placed
using the Register Monitor Editor, in the OITware 200 configuration software.
