Menu Selection

Menu screens can be created which allow access to other message, recipe, or menu screens

by the press of a numeric key on the OIT’s keypad.

Page Up and Page Down Keys

The Page Up and Page Down keys are used to access screens which have been chained to-

gether. Pressing the Page Down key accesses the next link in a chained screen sequence.

Pressing the Page Up key accesses the previous link in a chained screen sequence. If no such

link exists, then pressing these keys causes no action. If chained screens are not used, then the

Page Up and Page Down keys can be programmed as disabled (refer to the OITware 200

User’s Guide).

Note: The Page Up key is not available on the OIT3160 and OIT4160 models.

Last Message and Next Message Keys
Standard Mode

The Last Message and Next Message keys are used to access screens which were previously

shown on the OIT’s display. This feature allows the OIT operator to easily review informa-

tion that he may have just seen on another screen. Think of these keys as screen history keys

which always access the last ten screens shown.

Note: Help screens, alarm screens, and screens which are displayed by using a security

password are not stored by the OIT for review.

Pressing the Last Message key accesses the screen that was displayed prior to the current

screen. If the Last Message key is pressed again, then the next prior screen is shown. In other

words, the Last Message key will access prior screens in chronological order beginning with

the most recent screen. If the Last Message and Next Message keys are not needed, they can

be programmed as disabled (refer to the OITware 200 User’s Guide).

Note: The Last Message and Next Message keys are not available on the OIT3160 and

OIT4160 models.

Stacked Mode

The Last Message and Next Message keys work the same in Stacked Mode as they do in

Standard Mode with one exception. When the Next Message key is pressed, instead of ac-

cessing the historical list of screens, the OIT checks the message stack for any ASCII host re-

quested screens.

Help Key

Each message, recipe, or menu screen can have one help screen that is used to convey extra in-

formation to the OIT operator. The appropriate help screen is displayed when the OIT operator

pressed the Help key and remains on the display as long as the Help key is held down. Once the

Help key is released, the OIT displays the previous message once again. An error is displayed if

the Help key is pressed for a screen that does not have an associated help screen.
