S-Register Descriptions

The descriptions for each S-register follow. In most bit-mapped S-registers, the
default bit value is 0 (which is the normal situation) and only the non-default situa-
tion is described. Some reserved bits are for factory use and the user should not
change them.

disables auto-answer. The maximum
and minimum numbers of rings are
country specific.

value to this register. Users can read this
value, but should not change it.

contains the ASCII decimal value for

the Escape Sequence character. The
default character is the plus character
(+). A value of 128-255 disables the
escape code.

selected, the modem will dial as soon as
it detects a dial tone. This S-register also
sets the time-out interval for the
