Note
• Some operations cannot be performed unless the
function is cancelled either automatically or
intentionally by you.
• Operations that are not available when the PBC
function is set to “ON” are indicated by the following
symbol in this manual:
Insert a Video CD.

In stop mode, press [HOME].

Select “Disc Playback Mode” using
[
U \ D], then press [OK].

Select “PBC (Video CD only)” using
[
U \ D], then press [OK].

Select “OFF” using [ U \ D], then
press [OK].

Press [HOME] to exit.
To recall the PBC function, select “ON” at step 4
above.
Note
The default setting of “PBC (Video CD only)” is “ON”.
The contents of an HDD / DVD are generally divided
into titles. Titles are sometimes further subdivided into
chapters.
Basic Playback

Press [
Q (STANDBY-ON)] to turn on
the unit.
Turn on the TV and be sure to select the input to
which the unit is connected.
If you are playing back the titles in HDD, press
[HDD] first, then proceed to step
5 .
If you are playing back the titles in DVD, press
[DVD] first.

Press [A (OPEN
\CLOSE)] to open
the disc tray.

Place the disc on the disc tray with
its label facing up. Be sure to align
the disc with the disc tray guide.

Press [A (OPEN
\CLOSE)] to close
the disc tray.

Press [ P (PLAY)] to start playback.
If you are playing back a DVD-video or video CD
with PBC function, a menu may appear. See on
pages 46 - 47 and 53.

Press [C (STOP)] to stop playback
temporarily.
Refer to “Resume Playback” on page 54.
To eject the disc, press [A (OPEN
\CLOSE)] to
open the disc tray, then remove the disc. Press
[A (OPEN
\CLOSE)] to close the disc tray before
turning off the unit.
