This unit has four input terminals which can be
selected using [PROGRAM + / –] on the remote
control, AV1 or AV2 on the rear panel and AV3 or
AV4 on the front panel. Be sure that all the units are
switched off before making connections.
Recording from a DVD player, VCR, Satellite
Box or other Audio-Video equipment with a
Scart output socket (AV2)
Note
• Switch the input selector on your TV to an
appropriate external input channel.
• When you record a TV programme from a Cable
Box/Satellite Receiver, you must connect a Scart
cable to AV2 (AUX). (See pages 37 - 38.)
• When AV2 is connected to an active source
(e.g. cable box, Canal+ decoder), the source will be
automatically seen on TV connected at AV1. If you
want to monitor the signal from other input, you must
press [DISPLAY] first. Then, select the desired input
to monitor with [SOURCE] or [PROGRAM + / –].
• Switch the input selector on your TV to an
appropriate external input channel.
Recording from a camcorder or other
Audio-Video equipment with no Scart output
socket (AV3 / AV4)
Connect to AUDIO input jacks on the front panel
using an RCA audio cable.
1 If no S-VIDEO input jack is available,
connect to VIDEO input jack on the front
panel using an RCA Video cable.
2 Change the setup when using S-VIDEO
input jack. (Refer to “Active Video Input” on
this page.)
3 When connecting a DV-camcorder, use DV
input jack of AV4 (Front) instead of
S-VIDEO IN or VIDEO IN jack.
For AV3 jacks, you have to select S-VIDEO input or VIDEO
input jacks depending on the connected devices.
Active Video Input

In stop mode, press [HOME]. Select
“General Settings” using [
U \ D],
then press [OK].

Select “Video” using [
U \ D], then
press [OK].

Select “Active Video Input” using
[
U \ D], then press [OK].

Select the input jack type to be used
using [
U \ D], then press [OK].
• If you want to use VIDEO input jack
(Composite), select “Video In”.
• If you want to use S-VIDEO input jack, select
“S-Video In”.

Press [HOME] to exit.
Note
• When connecting an external device of monaural
output to this unit, use AUDIO L jack of AV3.
• Switch the input selector on your TV to an
appropriate external input channel.
