Fan modules
7.1.4 Replacing the defective fan module

Ê Identify the defective fan module. The indicator of the defective fan lights up
Orange, see circle in
figure 50 .
Ê Have the new fan module ready for the installation.

CAUTION!
Never leave the fan module bay empty for more than two minutes
during operation. Otherwise, excessive temperatures could damage
system components.
Ê Press the handle (1) and lift the fan module out of the housing (2).
Ê Insert the new fan module in the empty bay until it engages.
The new fan module is tested by Server Management. The indicator then
either does not light at all (fan is OK) or lights up in Orange (fan is not OK).
