PLAYBACK
Rotate VOLUME on the front panel (or press
VOLUME +/- on the remote control) to adjust
the volume to the desired output level.

repeatedly to select “TREBLE” or “BASS”
and then press BASS/TREBLE +/- repeatedly
to adjust the corresponding frequency
response level.

• Select “TREBLE” to adjust the high-frequency
response.
• Select “BASS” to adjust the low-frequency

• speaker and headphone adjustments are stored
independently.
• When -TONE BYPASS” is set. to -AUTO" (see page 82).
and “BASS" and "TREBLE" arc set to 0 dB, audio output
autoinalictilly bypasses the tone control circuitry of this
unit.
• Ifyiru increase or decrease the high-frequeiicy or low-
frequency sound to an extreme level, the tonal quality of
the surround speakers may not match that of the front left
and right speakers.
• TONE CONTROL is not effective when the “DIRECT
STEREO" mode (sec page 38) is selected or when the
component connected to the MULTI CH INPUT jacks is
selected as the input source (sec page 37).

Press PROGRAM <3 /1> on the front panel (or
press one of the sound field program
selector buttons on the remote control)
repeatedly to select the desired sound field
program.
The name of the selected sound field program appears
in the front panel display and in the OSD.

• Chuuse a sound field program based on your lisleiiing
preference, not merely on Ihe name of Ihe program.
• When you select an input source, this unit automalically
selects the last sound field program used with the
corresponding input source.
• Sound field programs cannot be selected when the
component connected to the MULTI CH INPUT jacks is
selecled as Ihe inpul source (sec page 37).
• Sampling frequencies higher lhan 48 kHz (except for DTS
96/24 signals) are sampled down to 48 kHz and then srrurid
field pr ograms are applied.
• To display iirforrnation ahout Ihe currenlly selected input
source in the OSD, see page 39 for details.
