Testing the Printer
The following messages appear as the printer performs internal tests
and warms up.

CAUTION:
Do not open the printer cover while the printer is
warming up or printing.
After you turn off the printer, always wait at least five
seconds before turning it back on.
Never turn the printer off while it is printing or
feeding paper. Otherwise a STARTUP error may occur.
It takes approximately 45 seconds for the printer to complete its
power-on routine.
When the READY message appears, you can begin the test print
operation. If the display remains blank, see Chapter 7 for
troubleshooting information.
