10.2.5 Setting the Generator Capacity
You only need to make the settings in this section if Sunny Portal is to calculate the entire power of
your plant or if you are using the "Inverter comparison" function. Sunny Portal calculates the plant
power from the aggregate power of the inverters (generator capacity).
Options for setting the generator capacity:
• Enter the power of an inverter manually
• Configure the power of an inverter via multiple strings
Entering the power of an inverter manually
1. Select "Configuration > Device Overview".
2. In the inverter line, select the icon for the device characteristics.
☑ The device characteristics window of the inverter opens.
3. Select [Edit].
4. Enter inverter power in the "kWp" field under "Generator power".
5. Select [Save].
6. Activate calculation, see Section 8.1.4 ”Setting the Plant Power” (page 50), paragraph
”Calculating the plant power from total power of all inverters” (page 51).
Configuring the power of an inverter via multiple strings
1. Select "Configuration > Device Overview".
2. In the inverter line, select the icon for the device characteristics.
☑ The device characteristics window opens.
3. Select [Edit].
4. Call up page for string settings:
– To add a new string, select [Add string].
– To copy an existing string, select [Copy] in the string line and then edit it.
– To edit an existing string, select [Edit] in the string line.
☑ The menu for configuring the string opens.
