Removing/Replacing the Printhead Cartridge
NOTE: We recommend the use of powder-free, nitrile gloves for this process.
Replacing the Printhead Cartridge
1. Open the Toolbox Utility. Go to the Start Menu, then open the Toolbox.
2. Open the Top Cover.
3. To release the Printhead Cartridge; press
the “Release Printhead” button, located in
the Toolbox User Interface menu under
the “SERVICE” [C] heading.
When this button is pressed, the Printer
will run a “partial de-prime” routine, to
pump the ink from the printhead back
into the Ink Tanks.
Then the Printhead Latch will be release (pop open).
CAUTION
DO NOT PRY OR MANUALLY LIFT THE
PRINTHEAD LATCH OR THE LATCH
MAY BREAK. ONLY OPEN THE LATCH
USING THE RELEASE PRINTHEAD
COMMAND IN THE TOOLBOX UTILITY.
4. Make sure the Printhead Latch [1] is fully opened to retract
the ink revolvers and lines.
5. Remove the used Printhead Cartridge by tilting it toward the
ink lines [2], then carefully lifting it out of the Printhead
Compartment.
6. To help reduce ink spills; place the printhead into the old protective packaging and discard.
7. Once the old Printhead Cartridge has been removed; please refer to the section titled “Installing
the Printhead Cartridge” to install the new Printhead Cartridge.
IMPORTANT!
BEFORE INSTALLING NEW PRINTHEAD, PLEASE CHECK INK TANK LEVELS.
PRINTER MAY NOT FULLY REPRIME IF TANKS ARE LESS THAN 30% FULL.
